3 weeks to go!

The countdown is really starting.  Yikes!  Will we be ready?  Will we actually do this thing?  It seems so daunting and yet achievable.  I’m so proud of all of us.  I don’t know about the swim. Beside having each of us get kicked in the head while we swim, there doesn’t seem to be a way to prepare us to swim like salmon spawning.  I had a lesson with Travis and still can’t manage the two beat kick, though I am great at it on my bed or when I am driving in my car.   I reserved my wetsuit for the two weeks before the tri. I look like an olive.  I just hope whatever is lurking on the bottom of the lake won’t think I am an appetizer.  We had a great workouts this week.  Running was easier.  I sang Carole King songs to help me keep a pace.  Biking is always fun.  Except on Monday when Kevin’s and my car were broken into.  He lost his ipod, cell phone and charger.  I lost my swim bag.  I was really bummed.  I loved that bag.  It was very PC, made by blind Tibetian women using recycled rice bags.  Way cool!  I also lost my string backpack.  Very nice when biking to swim practice.  I was mostly upset at the loss of my flowered swim cap and goggles.  It is so hard to find goggles that fit.   It was a miracle that we rode right past them.  Anyway it was difficult for me to stay on my bike that day.  I fell twice. My chain fell off… Swim practice went much better and Travis let me wear my flowered cap.  It just goes to show that sometimes you’re the windshield and sometimes you’re the bug.
